James Tubbs(b 1835-d 1921)

Son of William Tubbs, bowmaker. Worked with his father from1840- 1860.

First started making bows for William Ebsworth Hill around 1860 and continued a colourful relationship until 1870.

“his bows are compared to the very best French work”

His bows made for W E Hill & Sons are stamped W E Hill and are sometimes double stamped.
